Brenda D. Griffin, (aka Queen Storyteller) is a member of the award winning Kuumba Storytellers of Georgia, Inc. and the National Association of Black Storytellers. She currently serves as Program/Director for Kuumba’s Historical Portraits and is on the Board of Directors. She and fellow Teller Carsie Mason are co-authors of the book entitled “Voicing Our Stories “currently circulating on Amazon.com. 

Academically she earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Spelman College and hold a Masters in Social Work from Atlanta University, now Clark Atlanta University.

Queen Storyteller has served as resident Storyteller for Medu Bookstore located in Atlanta’s Greenbrier Mall. She has performed in venues such Kids Eye View at the Hammonds House Museum, Atlanta Parent Magazine Festival, Fulton County Library, Samuel H. Johnson Foundation, Creole Griot Productions, Discovery Point Summer Camp, Expedia, and The Wrens Nest (virtual). Even Dr. Seuss would smile at how she demonstrates her love of reading through the Public-School System’s Read Across America Program

She has shared the gift of laughter via her character the “Church Lady” with Faith Based Stories. The “Church Lady” entertains audiences of all ages. 

Not only does she present stories with the Seniors in the Silver Sneakers Program, but she also adds a few exercise routines into the mix for fun and good health.
